Sliced beef for biscuits and gravy? Sounds a bit like SOS. I've only seen/eaten it with crumbled breakfast sausage. Interesting.

Yep, that's a compromise for my wife's tastes. We're a fusion couple - I bring the biscuits and gravy, she brings the beef. :)

I bought some boiled eggs (I can't mess them up if they are bought already boiled and pealed), and some canned beets to make some pickled eggs to take down to Houston. It should be a nice surprise for the family.

Almonds were at a good discounted price, well I would get them anyway, but was happy...roasted a new batch just a while ago, ate a third...
The slaw, named Farmer's salad will be for snap tomorrow, togehter with some cheese. This one is a local one called Luka (Lucca), discounted too, so will give it a try. Usually they are very good. Greek yoghurt, not my usual brand, but will do.

Tofu, I felt a craving upon reading a recipe here...have not had one for probably 4 months or longer---have sesame seeds to use up--- will probably soak the tofu in soy sauce, that is why I bought the bottle...

Fruit is obvious...

We got sweetcorn
Nice! Do you eat it as a snack or side?

I love sweetcorn. Here in Zagreb one gets ti buy it at informal street stands end of August, beginning September I believe, either boiled or charcoal grilled or roasted is it, which was my favourite growing up... or one can get roasted chestnut...at the colder period October to January...

Our "Pooyai Baan" (village mayor) is retiring in a few months so her optimistic successor is handing out gifts.

We got sweetcorn (which has just come into season so you can buy a shed load for buttons anyway).

We bought 22 cobs two weeks ago @.25 c each, I cut each into three pieces and froze. It substituted some of our poor crop. Big and juicy just like yours .

I put a knob of butter on a cob, sprinkle of salt and wrap in foil. BBQ it. Best ever!!
