Chicken feet! I like using those for stocks and broths. They're up to stupid expensive now, double the price of pig's feet, so I've had to fall back to pigs feet. Still good but...

I didn’t look at the price of the chicken feet but it was an enormous bag!
They had six different types of trotters in the freezer cabinet ranging from enormous to tiny pre chopped.

I have to say I wasn’t sure what you’d do with ‘Chicken Gizzards’ but I’m thinking about looking it up and maybe making another trip up there.

You can put them in dirty rice, but I take a HUGE pass on them and add more chicken liver instead.

Some people fry them. I believe they soak them in some kind of seasoned liquid to help tenderize and flavor them, then coat with flour or cornmeal and fry.

I've used them in stock when I get a chicken or turkey that has the bits and pieces in it.

Hmm had a brief look, they sound rubbery.

From the side of the road...

Christmas Cherries.

They're much darker red than my photo suggests. It's middle of the day and full sun, so the camera is confused on exposure inside the car.

The lady had a big bowl of them out for taste testing and even showed me the container I was buying. These 2kg were AU$50 which is about £25 which I don't mind paying. They're huge and excellent quality and will easily store for 2 weeks. I also know when they were picked.

Fruit selling at the side of the road is very common at this time of the year. Each seller has their own patch that they return to every year. The fruit growing area isn't that far from here and they make for money than selling to the supermarkets. We've driven passed 5 such sellers today.

They often sell out by early afternoon.

Now I'm home, this is what they look like.

Cherries here are usually $20 kg. However I saw a sign on the road $9.90 kg. I love them and meant to call in.on the way home but forgot lol.

I had slightly more homegrown yellow and king oyster mushrooms than expected at over 600g.

(The bowl weighs 770g)

I just bought some cherries from the grocery store, mainly because my brain said, “Oh, cherries! In the winter!” -
I almost bought some the other day (cherries do not grow in the tropics).
Then I looked at the price: $32 a kilo.
I settled for a 1.5 kg fresh pineapple at $3!
