A fry pie is to a slice of fruit pie like a calzone is to a slice of pizza. It’s a piece of pie in a closed crust that’s fried (in a skillet, usually) and is something you don’t need a fork to eat, you just eat it out of hand, like a pastie. They’re also called hand pies. What's a fry pie?

I've made fry pies before. They can be sweet or savory. You make a pie crust type dough to hold everything and fry it and typically make them hand sized. Quick search engine found this: Amish Fry Pies Recipe - Amish HeritageWhat's a fry pie?

Thank goodness those come only in 3 per box around here...A fry pie is to a slice of fruit pie like a calzone is to a slice of pizza. The closest commercial version would be a Hostess Fruit Pie:

They’re considered a signature Amish dessert/snack and are very popular here.
I can only do fresh ground pepper! These just about count as produce as the salt and pepper were included.
I spotted these while at dunelm yesterday - I've been keeping an eye out for a non-plastic juicer, and was pleased to spot this one complete with glass collection jar.
And a salt and pepper set to go next to the cooker are just cute! My salt pig got stained with oil as it was bare terracotta and it won't wash off (grr)
I love the smell of freshly ground black pepper, but this crushed pepper smells really strong, whew!

I'll do either one. I will use ground pepper from a can if I am making a large pot of something, but if I am using it to finish a dish or salad, I add ground pepper when it's plated.I can only do fresh ground pepper!
That's a really good price! Usually for ground meat I'll get an assortment of stew meat when it's on sale and grind it myself. Where I need fat I'll grind in some bacon.Yesterday I picked up a couple of family-sized packages of (Black Angus) premium burger blend from a local grocery store called Giant Eagle. Well it's regional, but only found in 3 states to my knowledge (Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana). Anyway it was only $1.99 lb so when I get home from work tonight I will break out the cryovac and break it down into small packages for the freezer.
Dollar General has these that aren't bad. For a $3 piece of meat it's a quick breakfast or lunch thing.View attachment 126457
