I’ve added a casual chat room to CookingBites as a place for off-topic banter, light conversation, and short-lived chit-chat that doesn’t belong in forum threads. The chat room is informal and lightly-to-not moderated, with messages being temporary, so it’s ideal for friendly back-and-forth that would otherwise derail discussions. Site rules still apply, but there’s no reporting system or expectation of post-by-post moderation - if something becomes uncomfortable, the right response is to step away. If a topic has substance or lasting value, it still belongs in the forums; everything else can head to chat.

Planted some sweet peas earlier, just had a heavy rain shower so they have been well watered in.
We moved to the countryside yesterday for the summer. Yay! It has been exceptionally warm for a couple of weeks (in Finnish standards), so I'm already harvesting rhubarb and salad. I just finished planting all (store-bought) summer flowers and veggies. My own city-grown seedlings didn't turn up that perfect... Several weeks beside the radiator produced mainly a few bolted beanpoles (despite artificial lighting and all

Mango season has officially begun in my garden, with my tree dropping a few fruit that have been almost a month ahead of their siblings still on the tree. Having had a rough time with bugs in the spring, and therefore a reduced crop size now, I am not making a single mango go to waste!

Yesterday, we started on the hole for the pond and Mr Robin suddenly appeared, picked up a couple of worms then flew off. Guess he has little beaks to feed

Flowers are at their peak, just booming.
The herb garden go so out of hand, I had to attack it with the weed-eater and cut everything back by half.
Then I noticed my parsley was developing brown spots, which the internet said is a fungus resulting from possibly overcrowding, and said really all I could do was to pull it all up and start over, so no parsley for me right now.
