Actually, it looks a lot like the strips of coloured plasticine we had at school.

It does a bit. But this is a big close-up.

Nope - not squeezed. At least, that is as far as I know. I certainly didn't squeeze it.

Are you thinking of the bannaton? I s'pose it looks similar but this is green and definitely not a basket or banneton.

No - I was thinking of the banneton instead. Just thought you'd messed about with the lights to give it a deceptively green colour. Or blue. Or whatever colour it is.

No - not a mat or trivet. I suppose it is non-slip in a way - but that term is not something you would associate with this item.
