Your favourite lettuce or other salad leaves

Romaine, lettuce, butterhead. That's about all I know of and I love them all in that order.

Butterhead is the same as Boston, bibb, and butter lettuces.

I like iceberg for sandwiches/burgers. I like romaine for lettuce wraps. I like mixed greens for salads -- lettuce, spinach, arugula, endive -- that kind of stuff.

I also like to grill (BBQ) romaine leaves lightly to get a light char on them. Dip them in some kind of sauce/dressing, and eat with my fingers. Here is a photo (not mine) of how I like them grilled.

Never heard of that and Google doesn't show any results. What type of lettuce is it? Thousand island dressing I have heard of.

That lettuce looks nice, it doesn't look like our "round" lettuce, which is iceberg. That looks like what I have seen labeled as Boston or Bibb lettuce, I think also butter lettuce.

Yes, I call this butter lettuce. Or ' botersla' in Dutch.

This is all I could find.

The '1000' refers to the number of seeds in the packet. But maybe this is the one rascal meant. Its a type of iceberg it seems.

That is Valerian root. It is a mild sedative.

For the record, that round lettuce, at my local Kroger, will be labeled Bibb lettuce on the price card, the label on the lettuce itself will say Boston lettuce, and on my receipt, it’ll say Butter lettuce…or the other way round!

I'm pretty much the same way..I find I use them to accompany different dishes..where some are appropriate for one but just won't do for another dish..
