Japanese beetle it looks like? They converge on my basil plants like crazy. I *hate* those things.

I have a few photos like that that most people would look at and say, “Wasted shot, throw that out!” but I like them.

its known as a Bronze Orange bug. It is a sap sucker and the orange comes from citrus - it was likely on the lemon tree that the washing line is next to.

And it did go on to rain heavily.
Thunderstorm was right above us.
Hardly any time between lightning and thunder.
I live in a valley and you can just hear that thunder rolling through it.
Unfortunately BB is very scared of thunder, Sherlock doesn't mind at all.

I have been trying to identify the blue-banded bees that visit my garden. Various experts were wanting some specific angles for their identification, so I though I would share a few of the more aesthetically pleasing images here.
