Christmas 2022

They’ve been doing something similar here, setting prices back to 2019 levels on things traditionally associated with the holidays (turkey, ham, etc).

What chaps my @$$ is that prices are going up, and big corporations are reporting record profits. Everything would be cheaper if those big corporations would settle for reasonable profits.

Today’s advents:

…on second thought, I think the beer may distress you a bit, karadekoolaid , so I’ll put it behind a spoiler - I know you’ve been sick lately and I don’t want to cause a relapse with what you’re about to see, maybe sit down first…

Well, my 300km round trip was successful.

My mother wanted these, even sent me the money before I'd agreed to return and buy them!

The hidden cockatoo is holding it's sunglasses in its feet .

The next challenge will be to get glass Christmas ornaments to the UK at some point next year.

Love them!

Love them!
Thank you.

We get those birds in our garden daily. The far left is a Superb Fairy Wren. The male is blue, the females, brown and they are tiny. He has his own harem of 5-10 females!

The middle one are Sulphur Crested Cockatoo or juvenile delinquents as we call them because of their destructive nature and horrendous calls... They are huge birds that live 5 decades or so in the wild and longer in captivity. They are entertaining to watch when they decide to show off by hanging off anything by their beak about electricity cable thickness (usually our power lines) and open their wings to attract attention. (They do this on trees when it starts to rain after it hasn't rained for a while, hanging upside down do their body and under wings get wet. ) They are natural show offs big time.

The final ones are Crimson Rosellas, not quite as destructive in nature as the cockatoo, they usually just rip up the lawn and eat the fruit off our trees... They did help themselves to my pak choy this year though and some of the celery! But it was the cockatoos that ate the garlic and leeks!

My mum loves them. Perhaps next year I'll go in early September and see if they have any of her favourite Aussie bird, the galah.

It is really quiet here, only 7 people in the office when normally there is 13, and the shopfloor is down to less that half and will decrease at the week goes on. Most will be back on Friday for the party though.

This is what I got my mom for Christmas:

My sister said “she likes that stuff” and thought it would be a good idea, because my mom no longer cooks or eats sensible meals when one of us isn’t around to make sure she does, so that’s what I got.

It came with two “free” gifts (nothing’s ever free  ):

I’ve already tried one of the petit fours and it was pretty good.
