Christmas 2024

Somehow Christmas at 30+ oC doesn't work for this Northern European (born and raised)
No it just doesn’t work does it.
I got the Fairy tree topper out when I was in Spain and put it on the side but the sunshine and the heat meant I wasn’t feeling it at all!

Mind you in the morning when it was only 17 degrees the natives were wandering around in woolly hats and ski jackets so I think they were feeling it 😂

Yeah, came here. We bought a tree, but today just didn't happen, so the Christmas stockings have been filled and hung from the fireplace minus the tree.

Oh well. His pressies were never going to fit under the tree anyway.

I resorted to the pop up tinsel tree (2 minute assembly) but still havent managed to get batteries into the little led light casing, and what a sad specimen it is without them! 😂

Interesting looking prezzies?!

The creamed corn is made (Jamie Oliver went through an American phase about 20 years ago and the creamed corned has been on our Christmas menu ever since) and I’m starting on the Key Lime cheesecake which I think is an American pie import that got turned into a cheesecake recipe.

Rather nice to think of that cultural meld isn’t it.
