Oh, I see what you mean. I thought 'pickled' was indicator enough but I guess if I'm using synonyms in the clue then it should be clearer unless they are in the spelt order. I'm still learning! However, you obviously solved it.

So, to clarify, if mulligatawny was spelt mulgilatawny would the clue have been OK?
