Cryptic food and drink

This was a Paul clue from the crossword in Saturday's Guardian. We were only certain of the answer when we'd finished all of the other clues and there was only really one possible solution.

Slovakia and Jamaica (via Romania) both have breakfast (7,4)

I will be hugely impressed if anyone can get it without knowing any of the letters and even more impressed if anyone can actually explain it.

:scratchhead:. I haven't looked at this properly yet. Will give it some thought but doubt I'll get anywhere!

I think its 'poached eggs'. I'm not entirely sure why - but the word 'caviar' can be found in the Jamaica (via Romania) part of the clue if that's any help. Also 'ova' in Slovakia which means eggs (I think I might have used 'ova' in a clue on this thread - which was how I spotted it). Why poached though... is poached an 'indicator' of a word contained in a word or phrase?

We noticed the 'ova' and 'caviar' bits, but weren't quite cottoning on to why or how poached came into it. Caviar is notoriously expensive, so no doubt there is a black market trade, thus egg poachers?
