Cryptic food and drink

Ah...I was fogetting the lesser known white which I've never tried.
White with apricots was my favourite when I could have it. but Wensleydale with cranberries or straight Wensleydale (preferred option) was much preferred on a digestive biscuit or served with Christmas cake. Lancashire works well with Christmas cake as well.

My grandmother always ate cheese and rich fruit cake together, especially Christmas cake, though I can't remember what cheese it would have been.
Recently I have enjoyed a nice bit of cheddar and a piece of cake.

Depends on the pub, I think! So many now have gastro pub pretensions which they can't live up to.

A personal irritation. If I want to drink beer, I don't go to a restaurant, so why should I go to a pub if I want a meal?

<Wanders away, muttering>
