Ah...I was fogetting the lesser known white which I've never tried.In that particular variety. Not as a general rule.

Depends on the pub, I think! So many now have gastro pub pretensions which they can't live up to.Is correct. They always seemed to be in pubs in the 1970s and 1980s. Probably not these days.
White with apricots was my favourite when I could have it. but Wensleydale with cranberries or straight Wensleydale (preferred option) was much preferred on a digestive biscuit or served with Christmas cake.
