Cryptic food and drink

Now here's a curious thing. For reasons far too dull to explain, it came to my attention that there is no plural of the word tikka. Thus, one cannot ask for "two tikkas" in a restaurant serving such dishes.

A little research was necessary, if only because I am a very sad person when it comes to all things etymological (and probably a lot of other things, too). I discovered that 'tikka' is, in fact, an adjective, hence why one cannot pluralise the word. Therefore, if one requires two, then I suppose one would have to say "tikka dishes."

Isn't life exciting?

I must be as sad as you because I found that fascinating!
