Cryptic food and drink

Further note: the word 'about' tells us that the first anagram forms the outer part of the solution, this part being "about" or "around" the second part of the anagram.

"Greens" in this regard simply means something that is green, though using the term "Greens" implies food (and the overall clue is a mildly sarcastic swipe at neanderthal attitudes to environmentalists).

Sorry, I should have said that re 'about'. Its quite difficult trying to explain clues in simple English!

Yes, I should add that the best clues form sentences which are witty in their own right!

Where did that list of anagram words go to please? I can't seem to find it again.
thanks
Correct! You are getting the idea. I don't think you would have solved that a while back...

Which list - an on-line one? There is a very long one here: http://cryptics.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_anagram_indicators
But basically you look for any words that imply changed or mixed or upset. The possibilities are endless!
Hidden word indicators are probably fewer. You look for any word meaning inside, within, secret, a bit of, trapped in, etc. The clue you just solved was a hidden word with a very obvious indicator!

Previous one:

Dry in coffin, but maybe not in previous life? (6)
I am thinking 'iteration' may have something to do with it. Am I on the right track? Puzzled though. But it is late... funny how even though I know the answer I can't see the solution. :hyper:

Here is another. Not too difficult. Alternative clues are welcome, @Duck59.

Legumes baked in AUS (somehow)! (5,5)
All I appear to have its that it is a bean or press containing the letters aeoou and hmssw (5, 5) but I am darned if I can see an answer in that!

The definition is pretty obviously legumes. You need to work out which of the words that follow is the anagram indicator. Then rearrange the remaining letters. There are two words which might be the anagram indicator. Which one do you think it is?

Taking either option I still can't see anything, but I had taken somehow to be the indicator leaving me with baked in AUS or aaeiu, bdkns as my letters, but even taking baked in as the indicator I'm still left with AUS somehow or aeoou, hmssw as my letters and nothing springs out from that either sadly.

You are absolutely correct that 'somehow' is the indicator and that you are left with aaeiu, bdkns. Given that you are looking for legumes, you could try taking out the letters for 'beans' and see what is left! I would be most surprised if you didn't know of this legume.
