Favorite food/cooking aromas?

A slightly weird one for me - there are several meat processing/packing facilities in and around Cincinnati, and my favorites are the ones that handle bacon.

It’s the smell of the curing process, all the nitrates and curing salt used, which has a distinctive smell. We cured pork at home, so I was used to the smell from an early age, but from a big factory - it’s sensory overload. It smells magnificent.

Bacon has s smell of it's own. I buy from my mate butcher dry cured in .500gm packs . This 1 just out freezer. I'm waiting on 4 more. $20 kg.

Freshly ground coffee.
Banana bread and other baked goods (anyone here like oatmeal cookies?).
For savory, I agree with the garlic and herbs crowd, and in a different direction I'd also add baked ham (which I usually stud with cloves and glaze with honey).
My favorite cookie!

I do like oatmeal cookies, but no raisins in them, please.

Edit: No cranberries, either.
