Favorite food/cooking aromas?

I do like the smell of cilantro/coriander leaves. But, it still tastes like soap to me.

It does smell lovely. I don't have the genetically transmitted soapy taste. But sometimes I think - do I really want this taste? I can't quite explain it. Maybe its simply that its quite a dominant flavour.

Sad - you´re one of (apparently) many for whom it tastes like soap. Can you eat it if it´s mixed up with, say, a pico de gallo, or does the soap still come through?

I just cut up a fresh Orange for DH, the aroma was heavenly.

My wife doesn't like coriander cilantro but happily eats buckets of it in my thai salad. I love it rubbed on my fingers

If I put a small amount in my homemade salsa, it is fine. Perhaps the acid in the salsa does something.

I'm in that same camp, as is my DH. A VERY little goes a long way!
It tastes like soap, always has.
