Yeah, SandwichShortOfAPicnic feeds a hungry horde. But she also freezes a great deal of it. I suppose it's best to start small for the first batch just to make sure it turns out right, but it makes sense once you get the hang of it to make it in larger batches and freeze what you won't be able to eat in a short timeframe. I do that with my homemade fresh pasta.Not to me!
Edit: I don't eat a lot of meat.
Ah, yes. I have a small chest freezer in the garage. I wouldn't mind having a generator, although we don't have a lot of power outages (**knocks on wood).I don't have a lot of freezer space and the power goes out a lot here. Generator is on the list...
Nice link!My "thing" is totally going to work. 2 lb. is suggested weight and w/out elastic parts I can get up to 5 lbs. Empty bottle is 1 lb 12 oz.

It works! This batch is 1/2 mild pork sausage, 1/2 regular ground pork, diced roasted bell peppers, garlic, pink salt, and pepper. I ended up with 1 1/2 lbs which is plenty in 1 go for me and Pippi.

Using a plastic bag for a liner really helped. It slipped out of the can after 3 hours. Also kept the can pretty clean.View attachment 122205
