How is the corona virus affecting you?

Lenses: I find that washing my specs in soapy water before I go out reduces the steaming-up effect. It doesn't eradicate it completely, but it helps.

Yes, my eyeglasses steam up if it is really cold out and I am running into a store with the mask on. On the other hand, if it is really cold out, it keeps my face warm. Can't win!

I had my jab 3pm Tuesday. I was fine until midday Wednsday when I started to get dizzy. Still in bed midday Thursday.

Edit: Sorry if I sounded ungrateful. I know the side effects are nothing on catching the real thing. I'm very grateful to have had the jab.

Update from the UK:

60% of the population have now had a first vaccination.
4.2M have had both jabs
New infections are stable at around 4500 a day after a small spike when the schools reopened.
Deaths are about 50 a day down from a peak of 1800 in January and continue to decrease by 30-35% a week.
Hospitalizations continue to fall by 20-25% a week and there are now less than 10% the number in hospital that there were in January.
The Pfizer vaccine is 91% effective at stopping infection and the illness is less severe in those that do contract it.

Nothing wrong with stating side effects, flu like symptoms means the jab is working for you :okay:

Media state that less than 7% of the population in Croatia have been vaccinated so far.
Morning paper released data. I find it a bit confusing...
463.003 vacc doses used, 374.399 persons vaccinated.
And what happened to the 88.000 minus difference? Are those vaccs with defects?
The Government sites do not state vaccinated numbers. They give instructions and state thst 5,3 mil doses were ordered, expected delivery end if March 730.000 doses.

We have slightly over 4 mil people.

Good thing is there is a central website for vacc applying, and premises at the Fair in Zagreb are getting ready for mass vaccination. So it says.

So it turns out the British Government invested €25M in the Halix AZ plant in the Netherlands after the Dutch Government refused to support the factory.

Dutch had chance to invest in Leiden vaccine maker Halix: NOS - DutchNews.nl

It is also now known that AZ have been sending raw materials made in the UK to its Belgian plant in order to manufacture vaccine for the EU.

Meanwhile European national and EU politicians are repeatedly going in front of cameras complaining that the EU should keep all its vaccines for itself.

It's very rare we in the UK get to occupy the moral high ground and it feels weird.

Yeah, the Pfizer vaccine had 95-percent efficacy in trials, and 91 percent in real world conditions. Not a surprise. But, as you said, it does minimize severe infections.

The big problem we face in Texas is that the Republican Governor has opened businesses to 100-percent capacity, and eliminated the mask mandate. Lucky for us, most businesses, at least in the highly educated suburban areas (like where I live) and urban areas, most businesses are still requiring masks, and restaurants are still operating at 50-percent capacity or less. When you get out between the big cities, and the rules are gone. I made a couple stops today between Dallas and Houston, and mask wearing was about 50/50.

Grandpa went to have his first Pfizer shot last week. After the shot they gave him a small bag with an apple, a muffin, some juice, a pack of masks, a small bottle of hand alcohol and a booklet with information about Covid. This isn't standard practice in Portugal, it's something really nice that my city is doing. They also pay you a cab if you don't have your own means of getting to the place where they're giving the vaccine.

Many places in the US offer free transportation to get a Covid vaccine to those who can't/don't drive.

Boris has announced that every adult in the UK will get 2 free rapid Covid-19 tests a week as the country opens up. I hope this happens.

In the last two days only 10 Deaths/day have been recorded - yes it's Easter and these numbers will be revised upwards, but now 60% of adults have had one jab, and 10% have had both. My local pub starts selling tickets for its comedy club tomorrow and beer deliveries are restarting.

Not quite the case - this just applies to England rather than the UK as a whole.
