How is the corona virus affecting you?

Well, here it is...they unblinded me today, so I know that I did get the vaccine in December.

I'm not so sure... we may well see a rise in cases as a result. I'd rather not see non essential shops opening. People simply don't do social distancing in clothes shops.
I understand your concern. We had a tremendous rise in cases since café terraces opened, shops were open throughout... within two weeks it was dramatic.
Just found out a sad news, my boyfriend's friend's Dad passed. He got Covid vaccinated. Developed fever, was brought to hospital, tested positive, on respirator, died. He had no health concerns prior to vaccination. Plus, the son (the friend) and his Mother developed fever.

So sorry. This sounds as if he was already infected at the time of receiving the vaccine being given but not aware of it. As far as I know there is no evidence whatever of the vaccine itself causing Covid.

There will be a rise in cases, but as Chris Witty said this afternoon, the negative effects have been factored into the calculations.

Personally I will give the shops a miss for the first few weeks though.

Yes, that was really sad, thank you for your kind words. I have no idea really. It is strange. Is there no procedure to test prior to vaccinating? It seems, if that was the case, he went without any symptoms whatsoever prior, and then with fever after.

Thank you, you are kind. It is difficult, this being the second death of a father of a close friend of his in the last 3 months. Both are high school friends of his. The latter gentelmen had developed pneumonia and died in hospital, several days upon admittance, with Covid, whether of Covid is unclear, but possible. It was devastating. And now this father.

Here, there isn't a system of testing prior to vaccination. People can be asymptomatic initially so he may well have had it without knowing at the time of vaccination. It also takes at least 3 weeks for immunity to build up after the vaccine so its still possible to catch it post vaccine. Obviously we don't know what happened here and I probably shouldn't speculate.

I'm so sorry.

Yes, here neither, at least not that I know of. It is what it is now. Thank you. I am sorry too.

Was not sure if they have a close person or a relative to arrange for the necessary, bf does not know either, seems/he assumes they will (son and wife, i.e. friend and his mother) have to get well first and then deal with the funeral arrangements. My question was how long will the body be kept in the hospital. We don't know. But are ready to help if needed.

The previous father who dies, also of a friend, was buried in Pakrac, a city 120 km away from Zagreb, bf went there although longer drives are painful for his backspine. And bf's own father was unwell at the time, as he fell over a carpet in their house. But he is doing better now.

He is 4 y younger than me, but his jobs and the sports have taken toll.

Anyways, this is life. We shall make it through.🍀

Oh c'mon. We all know people make wise decisions when they drink in pubs. What could possibly go wrong?

My sister the RN explained to me why people have more side effects after the second shot than the first. Apparently, the first shot starts the process of your body's immune system preparing to fight the virus. When you get the second shot, the body's immune system sees it as it would the virus, and the immune system and the vaccine kind of fight with each other a bit. However, in the end, the second shot makes the body's immune response to the virus stronger.

The biggest side effect reported by the hospital staff where my sister works was being VERY tired the day after the second shot. They all got the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines. Pfizer's vaccine is what I am getting, so I'm expecting to be tired after my second shot in two weeks.
