Here’s hoping Psychopoodle gave that a miss - dogs looooove antifreeze and it’s a killer. Kate got into some years ago, and with a lot of luck, a good emergency vet, and a dog to damn mean to die just then, she pulled through. That was a long couple of days.

I know. I wouldn't let him come into the garage with me. The little trail up the driveway was just drops that soaked into the concrete. The garage door is closed for the night.

Making apple sauce again. Froze 4x 2 litre tubs for crumble during winter.
Free from a friend.
Bottled 10 more jars beetroot yesterday. Busy weekend. Lazy day watching yearling sales on tv and super bowl.

Getting a filling seen to (I think the dentist sees me as the down payment on her yacht), work, and hopefully we’ll get our little Valentine’s Day meal taken care of.

When were you last in Maidstone? The town centre has changed a bit over the last few years. Not that I ever get out into it any more!
4 years ago to a day. I´m somewhat disillusioned at the deterioration of the town; half the High St is full of empty buildings and Week St is a depressing mess. There are more Charity shops than I´ve ever seen anywhere. Miserable, grubby little grocery stores scattered around. If the council fails to come up with an innovative scheme to re-ignite the town centre over the next year or so, then the town will simply fall into disrepair and will end up like Great Yarmouth or Scarborough. Not impressed at all.

Covid hasn't helped. I'm not sure what can be done really. Its the problem with so many town centres in the UK and has been for a long time: the death of the high street. They have pedestrianised most areas which is good.

It is the same in the US. Small towns with quaint Main Streets (our version of High Streets) are losing their businesses to the mega-marts. Frisco has done a decent job of turning our old "downtown" into small shops and cafes. Some buildings have been restored to their original appearance.

DH and I have an appointment with a Para-legal who is drawing up all of our documents, such as our will, health directive and one more but I can't remember it now :scratchhead: We've been saying that we were going to do this for decades! FINALLY!
