Nope, they’re not quite there yet, IMO, but maybe one day, although there’s a chance this could be our last car purchase. Her current car is 18yo, 250K miles, and we drive much less these days than we used to, so if it’s a decent car, we ought to be able to get 20 years out of it.

In 20 years, I’ll be 79 and she’ll be 82, and I really don’t plan on driving when I’m that age if I don’t have to (that’s fine for some folks, just not me).

I had a friend who had a Saab that was always breaking down. It was a nice looking car but my friend was always broke (and the car often was too). Always a "sob" story going on with that one.

Wifes bro had a skoda about 45 years ago
I towed it to his home at least 30 times.
Hes the hippy type yoga nut. Only guy I know who got medevac from India to Perth medical event. Hes very odd.

Exactly my thinking about our car. 20 years will prolly see us out plus our ford v8 is a collectors car.in 10 years it could be worth $20 k so we will cash that out in 10 years.

Yeah, it's annoying as hell. If he would reminisce about pleasant stuff more often it wouldn't be as bad, but sometimes it's stuff I'd rather not think about, much less talk about. And as far as the future goes, well I just hope to be alive, healthy, still walking without assistance, and being able to drive.

It's been really windy here last night and this morning, but seems to have calmed down, for now. March winds and all that. The April showers came early, though.

We were in the area where my wife and I started out in 75. I drive past there in the weekend and stopped to look at the wee flat. $17 a week. I said to her we've come a long way since those days. She agreed.

It's supposed to be a work day for me too, but one of my big projects got put on hold for a week and the other might start Wednesday...I dunno yet. So thinking about moving my other project for today since I like to bundle work where I can conserve fuel...we'll see.
