Plans for today (2025)

Running errands then going to my son-in-law's heavy metal show at a downtown venue. Should be fun! We are going to take an uber so we don't have to worry about drinking and driving. I generally don't have enough to go over the legal limit, but then we don't have to worry about parking and all that (it might rain).

The house is now a mess but I only have so much go in me so I've abandoned the housework in exchange for a nice icy cold glass of Gazpacho.
The Spanish are nuts for Gazpacho probably in equal measure to how much the Brits like hot soup.
Even the smallest supermarket will sell four different types and the main supermarket here sells 12 different varieties!

Pippi scratches on the refrigerator door. It's a side by side and she knows which side the snacks come out of.

Slow moving today. I slept pretty good until around 5:30 or 6, when I had to get up and get water and such, then fell back asleep only to get woken up by my neighbor's dogs barking. All 5 of them were out (it's 3 houses right next to each other behind me that all have large breed dogs) and they just barked and barked for probably 45 minutes before even their owners got annoyed and brought them in. Took me a bit to fall back asleep after that. Then there were some hot rods racing around somewhere in the neighborhood, a loud motorcycle passed by our house, and then the dogs started barking again...I wish I lived in a more rural area in a spacious area not close to neighbors and traffic where I could have some peace and quiet!

At least I get to pick my own work hours so it's no big deal that I am not leaving for work until mid afternoon.

You would love it here..I only have 1 neighbor and his pets are pigeons. No dogs within 50 meters.
I burn incense as well for calming effect.
I too was up at 6am when wife went to the loo. She went back to bed. I couldn't.
I dozed off for an hour downstairs.
We are betting on the horses today. 1 meeting 10 mins from me at riccarton.
We have groceries to get later then prep for tomorrow family dinner.

Sounds good. More people have got dogs here recently, so I often hear them barking in the rear gardens.
 
Icing my husband's newly sprained ankle every 30 minutes. It's a doozy, he's got some torn ligaments I'm certain. He's sleeping kinda but I'll be up most of the night tending to it. Ice pack on right now for 20 minutes, off for 30. Rinse and repeat.
