Preparing for Christmas

... and SSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHH
sshhhh.png

don't tell DH, but I'm going hunting for a Fruit Cake as well tomorrow!
I found a bakery here in Cowboyville Arizona USA that does it the ole fashion way, soaking ingredients in BRANDY!!!!

If you can’t find one, let me know. I can get them here…usually. They’re a favorite of mine.
I LOVE this candy bar, and I'm not a big sweets fan.
When I do get one of these bars, I have to hid it so that DH doesn't eat it!
In the past, my Mother would usually put one in my Christmas Stocking, but seeing as I do the shopping now for all of us...

I'd bet good money that you know where to get virtually any UK food product that can be had in the US.

CD
I have backups…and backups for my backups!

We used to have three British food shops in Dayton, owing to the air base and all the British spouses, in addition to the international market, but to the best of my knowledge, they’ve all closed within the last five years.

I used to love a Fruit & Nut. I can still hear Frank Muir singing " Everyone's a fruit and nutcase" to the music from the Nutcracker Suite:laugh:
Last time I bought one, however, it didn't taste the same. Seems they've cut down on the chocolate and upped the sugar.

Say hi to Rupert, the newest member of out family.

My mom used to have one of those. You could squeeze the belly and it would say, "Ho, ho, ho, Mery Christmas and a Happy New Year." in a deep voice. It scared my dog (the one before Psychopoodle). As for Psychopoodle, he growled at it, and attacked it.

It must have gotten lost in the downsizing move. I couldn't find it after that.

I got him from our local Tesco, he is silent. They had a box of reindeer and a box of cockapoos, Rupert was the last in the box and I felt sorry for him.

TVC put up lights in the front big bedroom window, a star on the small room window and a twinkley wreath on the front door, we haven't been able to sort any lights outside because the ground has been rock solid and the weather bitterly cold, now it is raining so neither of us were keen to be outside. Maybe next weekend.
