Well…the carpaccio is right out, as are the scallops. The salad…I like beets, but not the rest of it, and I don’t want to waste my choice on Jerusalem artichoke, which I’ve not had, so I’d rather try that when it’s not a special occasion meal.

I don’t know why I had it in mind you ate most things but now you’ve jogged my memory I think theres a thread somewhere where everyone talked about the foods they disliked.

Only the carpaccio and scallops would be absolute no-gos. I could eat the salad, but the soup sounds better. I like soup!

No pics, but tonight’s chocolates were a dark chocolate filled with salted caramel creme and a milk chocolate filled with milk chocolate ganache.

I buy thick-cut Bacon at Costco and it's THICK alright ... the only thing I wrap with it is my Meatloaf ...

MrsT and I are always kidding around with each other about our respective hall passes*, and the first time I saw Miranda Hart (in Hyperdrive), I said, “I’m changin’ my hall pass! That’s one tree I’d like to climb!**”



*hall pass - A generally-unattainable person your other half agrees you can “spend the night with,” should the unlikely opportunity arise.

**Miranda is very tall.

AH YUM!!!

Oddly for a land of bacon lovers thick cut streaky bacon isn’t really a thing here.

People favour thick cut back bacon or thinner streaky that they can get crispy easily.

I have to say I’m a devotee of a bacon press for getting the perfect crispy bacon.
