We’re having it again this morning.
This is what it looks like coming out of the oven (and when I remember everything, like cheese, salt & pepper, and chives):

Mini pancakes with honey. I don't eat breakfast but I made them for my partner:

I never use syrup anymore either, I love them with honey! I really don't care for maple syrup and many other syrups are just flavored sugar water over here. I am probably going to make banana pancakes tomorrow topped with fresh papaya and honey, yum!

I just bought a Decor brand microwave poacher but they gave very mixed reviews online.

Today’s brunch was my first time making or eating “shrimp & grits”. It was delicious.

I read quite a few recipes then proceeded to do what I wanted. I based the prawn topping on the Recipe Tin Eats garlic prawn recipe. It has a splash of white wine and some lemon. I used a lot of garlic.

Steel-cut oats:

These are cooked in water (which is not my preference), then after cooking, a mashed banana gets stirred in, with a very small amount of milk, sugar, vanilla, and butter.

They’re supposed to get a sprinkle of walnuts on top, but we don’t like nuts on things like that, so a few slices of banana instead, and served in a pretty yellow bowl on a brown-edged plate, to reflect the state the banana was in when I mashed it (is that thinking artistically or what? 😬).

Let me share my happiness and pride over my very soft bread buns here, as I had them for breakfast for two days (and dinners). And am redoing the recipe this night, with a different flour combo.
So, these are spelt-rice flour, by Youdane method (misspelled? possibly), which I had to use a regular white flour (50 g) for. That quantity did not bother me at all. And each bun is roughly 6 cm x 6 cm, and I only ate one at a time.

I would either smear margarine and salt them, or have a salami slice with it, or a few tom slices and green olives...

I drank just plain filtered water. Now that I think about it, I drank so much green tea at work, it never even occurred to me I could have it at home too. Water is perfect.

This was my breakfast yesterday (MG moved my original post to create a new thread so I am reposting one of the photos). It was seafood benedict using sea scallop, shrimp, lobster, snow crab, and smoked salmon, served with slivered asparagus and hollandaise sauce:

Yeah, I don't like nuts in/on my oats either. Do you like the oats cooked in milk?

Yes, or better yet, half-and-half, and a couple of tablespoons of brown sugar, and a couple of tablespoons of maple syrup, and a couple of tablespoons of raisins added in, and twice as much oatmeal!

Well you had me at half-and-half and TBSPs of brown sugar, and lost me with the maple syrup and raisins! I'd choose honey and fruit but no nuts or raisins, please.
