Show us your breakfast (2025)

JAS_OH1 mahalo sistah! and probably 10x's cheaper too!
1 piece of Kirkland Center Cut Thick Bacon 21¢
1 Kirkland large White Egg 39¢
1 frozen Pillsbury Grands Buttermilk biscuit 46¢ (did I make my biscuit from scratch? GAWD NO!)
I'm gonna through in my time, electricity, a slice of cheese ... meh, maybe another 10¢
total per sandwich = $1.16
Well, maybe 5x's better! :laugh:

If you are doing all the rest of that stuff I am sure that the Pillsbury were just fine. It doesn't look like the canned refrigerated biscuits, though, are those the frozen ones? They are quite good if I remember correctly.
 
JAS_OH1 , yes, I buy the frozen stuff in 12count bag, very good stuff!

Here's how I look at eating/cooking breakfast at home:

A) I don't have to get up at the butt crack of dawn
B) I don't have to get changed into street clothes

C) I can keep my Bunny Slippers on

D) I can customize each diners order, oh, that's called a short order cook! :laugh:
E) We can have as much of anything that we want, coffee, tea, juice, etc. AND the kind that we like best
F) We can eat on our schedule... no, "oh sorry, the kitchen stopped cooking breakfast items an hour ago, you missed it."
G) There's no tipping at my kitchen, nor do I charge 4% fee to use a credit card as your form of payment, kisses will do just fine thanks

I just asked DH what else he thought I should add to "my list" ... "you can just relax. You finally convinced me that I don't have to get up early to just go get a cup of coffee! We make everything at home , and that took some doin', let me tell ya."
Who we?
Don't get me wrong, we do go to eat breakfast, but it's usually because we're already out and a bout having to do something ... take Mom somewhere mostly nowadays.
But for the most, I've also convinced DH that having linner (late lunch/early dinner) out is a win-win ... more bang for your buck and it's not crowded during the "shoulder hours".

Yep. And no sticky tables or the literal "greasy spoons", ugh. It's disgusting to find food particles on your plate or silverware that didn't come from the meal you are eating at that time.

Spoken like the native of a tourist destination, LOL. I can totally relate because I grew up in NW Florida on the beach, and I know all about vacationing during off (shoulder) season when there are fewer people on the beach and in the resorts (much less traffic too), and also about avoiding crowds (and sometimes getting early-bird specials) dining out during the earlier hours before the dinner rush starts at around 7pm. And while yours might be "linner" ours is truly a lunch because of the late hours we keep, and we likely have leftovers or something light for our late evening meal.

Breakfast is our favorite meal to go out for, which seems odd because it’s usually the most limited in options…eggs, pancakes/waffles, oatmeal.

Granted, there will 7,394 variations on the eggs, but still…
 
I just had breakfast. I made a batch of grits. Sometimes I just eat leftovers from the night before for breakfast, but I am saving the leftover lamb shanks (served with mashed taters last night) for dinner tonight but it will be served with risotto instead. So anyway, I had cheesy grits with a fried over-easy egg on top (DH had 2x cheesy grits plus shredded chicken and 2 over-medium eggs in his). Yummy!
