The pizza and the cheesebread was completely upside down.

Our malamute/golden mix ate all but 1 piece of smothered chicken from the pot, while it was STILL cooking! The pot was still on the stove, with the top pushed off. She also stole either a roast or a big steak off the counter while it was defrosting. Numerous wooden spoons and spatulas got taken out of the sink and cleaned doggie style. Took us a while, but we eventually learned not to leave tasty stuff within her reach.

She was a big girl, just under 5 feet tall when she stood on her back feet, 90-95 pounds.

These are the chicks. The 3 hatched 7th October, so are 6-7 weeks old now.

The Gold one might just be a pullet (female( despite being larger than the cockerel to the immediate right of her, and the silver one button right is definitely a pullet. Their gold and silver laced wyandottes.

The other 5 hatched 31st October, so are 3-4 weeks old now.

Blondie may be an Orpington but I'm not certain on the colour yet, it for that matter what sex. I had thought cockerel initially but the feathering is suggesting a pullet, but it will stay with us either way. It's a lovely little chick, great to handle and so very friendly.

But I think we may end up needing a new name for it because the feathers are going chestnut!

The one to the right of Blondie is a cockerel Brahma chick, but I'm not sure on the colouring yet.

This one is also a Brahma chick but female and a pain to handle. Screams blue murder if you touch her and won't hand feed period. She's going to be a problem chick, I can see that one coming!

Then I have 2 black chicks that are English Cuckoo Maran chicks. I think I have 1 of each because the feathering is very different on them in terms of growth. Females feather up much faster than males... the large white spot on the head is the cockerel, the one sitting down at the front is the female I think. Time will tell.

Welcome to CookingBites Barriehie. If you want to post a short intro about yourself head over to New to CookingBites?

Pippi is cute. What does he or she help you with? My Mum was blind so I grew up with her guide dogs.
Thank you. Pippi is a medical alert dog. She's very attentive to everything around her.

Me too...
My mix breed could eat straight of the charcoal grill and tables.
She looked waimaramer, labrador mix but taller
My jackie and jackie cross are small(ish), but agile and they can climb chairs, so I still gotta be careful
Kate wasn’t a huge dog, about 45 pounds, but she was a very tall dog, very long, gangly limbs.

When we first got Kate, she’d pace the house nervously, always looking for food (she’d been running wild for a few months before we got her), and when I’d stop hearing her for a while, I usually knew something was up.

MrsT used to be in the habit of leaving a bit of a mess when she’d make toast or a sandwich - meaning, she’d set the jammy knife right down on the countertop, or get mayonnaise right on the countertop, things like that.

I’d walked into the kitchen during one such quiet spell, and there was Kate, up on her hind legs, front feet well up on the counter, head to the side and laid on the counter, tongue lolling in and out, while she methodically walked the length of it, trying to lick up any jam or butter or mayonnaise or whatever else might be exposed and left behind.

Do you have any Australorps? I hear (no pun intended) that they are the quietest of all chickens.
