A technique, like you have to make a dish doing that technique, like en papillotte or roulade, but you can use whatever food ingredients you like.What do you mean? Isn't technique part of the recipe?

I understand where everyone else is coming from and I realise I’m the odd one out.
I do like the pleasant jovial approach everyone takes towards it and I love the challenges from the point of view that they’re stimulating, maybe sometimes too stimulating as I have about 10 jars of mustard from a previous challenge on the go right now!
I also love the discussions around an ingredient but overall it’s just not for me.
If I could post a recipe as a non-entry I wouldn’t mind that

yeah - all the recipes I have that use oil and feature it well are things I have previously written up, but maybe this list will give others ideas?Show me why the oil or fat is important to the flavor and character of the recipe.

By the way, for those who haven’t had me as a judge, I highly value featuring the ingredient instead of just putting a small bit in an already great recipe. Show me why the oil or fat is important to the flavor and character of the recipe.

When I did put a not for competition recipe in it ended up counted as an entry, which as I mentioned I’m not really comfortable with.
But if it’s ok with everyone else I’d like to participate, the challenges always spark off a million ideas![]()
