The CookingBites Recipe Challenge: Nov 2015-June 2017

Don't be like me. I love rice, always have it on hand and didn't get a recipe in for the last challenge. @Caribbean girl, I am sure they are here just not in abundance and I feel like we call them by another name. I will check it out.
Getting close to end of season, I know that much.

This doesn't look like apricots as I know them... will @classic33 allow this fruit?
Maybe if it didn't come from a grapefruit tree.
"Such is the picture that comes to mind when I think of this fruit. I was a teen in high school and chadeque or apricot jam (get the recipe here!) had become my favourite and only breakfast before heading to class in the morning."

"The fruit of Citrus maxima is a citrus fruit , called "grapefruit" by botanists , , . In the vernacular the fruit of the grapefruit tree is called "grapefruit" or "pomelo" according to usage in various Francophone countries, which results in confusion because "grapefruit" is also commonly used to describe the fruit of the hybrid well known grapefruit . Expressions like "grapefruit true" or "real grapefruit" are sometimes used to reduce the ambiguity .

It is called shadek or chadèque Guadeloupe, Martinique, Haiti and in French Guiana ."
Citrus maxima is a species of fruit tree , named in French grapefruit tree, which belongs to the family Rutaceae . It is native to Asia Southeast where he is known for over four thousand years and cultivated for its fruit. It was introduced to Barbados in the seventeenth century by captain EnglishShaddock . The name of the captain is sometimes used to refer to the fruit in some countries.

Now that I think back, I do remember seeing apricots in the supermarket, but not in large amounts. Strangely enough, I have never bought them. Don't think I even know what they taste like, except maybe I have had them in a fruit salad at some time, possibly at a luncheon or something.
