The CookingBites Recipe Challenge: Nov 2015-June 2017

Why is it not an entry? :)

It's not really based upon artichokes. Just a couple chopped up and added to all the other stuff.

By the way - it was exceptionally good. The benefit of quattro stagioni made at home is I only include the toppings that I love.

:hungry::hungry::hungry:

And, I cooked it last year.

Well I vote it eligible. It doesn't matter when you cooked it. The rules just state it must not be a recipe you already posted on the forum, that's all. :)

Artichokes! :happy:

I had no idea that an artichoke was actually a thistle flower bud!

Wiki
The globe artichoke is a variety of a species of thistle cultivated as a food. The edible portion of the plant consists of the flower buds before the flowers come into bloom.

Can you describe how you prepared the artichoke. It looks as if you have whole leaves chopped up. My understanding (and experience) is that unless the artichokes are tiny baby ones the leaves are inedible (tough and stringy) and it is only the fleshy base of each leaf and the heart which is edible.
