Another cold and wet day, today. 36F/2C again for the high. We got just enough rain to make things misserable outside, but not enough to do any good for the lakes.

Things change tomorrow. Sunny and warmer. By Tuesday, we are expecting daytime temperatures back in the 70s, with 77F/25C by Thursday.

Well nuts. I went to bed just after midnight, and woke up to the sound of things hitting my bedroom window (front of the house). I got egged.

Looks like they unloaded a whole carton on me. Some hit windows, the rest hit brick wall. The cops came out, and looks like nothing is broken. I gave them a description of the car, but I couldn't read the license plate.

Teenagers who can't get dates on a Saturday night, I'm sure.

I wasn't keen on switching to induction but now I'm sold. I used my induction hob for the first yesterday and made a recipe that usually takes me abour an hour to cook in my old gas stove, took me just over 30 minutes 😱 Boiling water for tea wouldn't take me less than 20 minutes, I did it in just over 10 I think. I do love cooking but I'm excited about spending less time on the stove.

The situation is bleak and tense here in Europe, but my way of coping is to pretend there's nothing going on. Of course I know there's a war raging, but there's nothing I can do about it, it's outside of my control, so I'll try to more or less carry on with normal life, albeit with a dark cloud over my head. The joy of the new home feels muted, it's almost not here. Especially because I always wanted to buy a house so I could feel safe in life, and the latest events just erased that illusion of safety.
Yes, frightened is how we feel here too. A dark cloud, exactly as you wrote.
And doing all the usual things, also as you said. I still feel unprepared for the inflation, and now for the war...even more unprepared...

some strong winds here yesterday, the whole night, and still going on.
It is 3 c at 9 am. I just looked up the wind speed, 5,3 m/s. We are in the green, no danger, it just feels strong when you walk. Some cities on the coast, like Rijeka have a red warning, theirs is 12 m/s. An Island Lastovo has 13,7 m/s. Oh wow.
Snow is predicted today too, plus rain.

Well, that’s just a 💩 thing to do.

Yeah, well I went out in daylight. They only hit one window, the one the size of a barn door. Most of the eggs hit brick wall, and they don't show up now. They dropped one in the street.

It's too cold right now to hose down the window -- below freezing. I'll have to do that later today.

Did they egg anyone else on your street?
