Dad fell today. He hit is head. An ambulance took him to the hospital where my sister works. He's home now. He has 8 surgical staples in the back of his head. He starts physical therapy next week to work on his leg strength and balance, so hopefully he will stop falling.

So sorry to hear that. I hope he recovers the best possible way.

Everyone is affected vby this, mentally, tension, but regardless we went on with the music competition, won 3 second prizes...one does wonder about the sense of all..but for the kids' own self development? ok, yes.
I think I will stock up on some canned foods.
i am trying to focus on the now, and be positive nd all.

As far as work is concerned, hopefully some lighter weeks are ahead.

Really pleased with today. We went out for a hike.

I managed 11.2km with 300m of climbing. So pleased. It was only the last ½km that I started to struggle with but made it back to the car without issue. If I really had had to, I could have walked further, but 11km was far enough for me. Off to bed now because I'm exhausted! Lol. Used to do those distances for an evening walk before bed workout batting an eyelid. Maybe I can get back to that, just maybe (after the other new hip?)

Well done!!

Dad is doing somewhat better today. When he arrived in the ER Thursday, he was in full septic shock from a UT infection. He was really foggy yesterday. Somewhat more lucid today.

They had to put soft restraints on his arms, because he kept pulling his IV out. He can have them off when we are visiting, and can watch him. He gets special treatment since my sister has been an RN in that hospital for almost 30 years. Most of the doctors know her. The young floor nurses want to someday have the job she has.

I bought a ceiling fan for my parent's living room. The maintenance people there will put it up. I'm cooking some of their favorite foods to put in their freezer for days when they don't want to go to the dining room. We did some laundry yesterday, and I took their dog for a walk yesterday and today. They have a dog walker on weekdays.

Just another day in paradise.

Yeah, UTIs often do a number on the brain. My mom died from kidney complications resulting from a UTI. She was out of her mind from it near the end. Often when older people are admitted to the hospital who are exhibiting erratic behavior, that's the first thing they test for (my mom had her UTI well before hospital admission). I'm sure you already know that with an experienced nurse for a sister.

I'm glad your dad is in good hands, I'm sure he will return to a more lucid state quickly, getting top notch care he needs !

As an early bday present, just ordered an air fryer :D Oil prices are already soaring here. The cheapest oil used to sell for 1,60€, now it's at 2,09€. I don't fry foods regularly but I have even less of an incentive to fry foods now with prices like this. Once I get my air fryer, the first recipe I'll try is falafel.
