Yeah, these just knock everything out of their way. Damaging winds, minus the rotation of a tornado.

Yeah, we're getting those. They just call them damaging winds here! Sustained wind speed of and gusting to speeds are quoted.

(Right now, dawn, it's the calm between storms at the moment. Literally. Over the weekend it was too windy for some of the wind turbines in the local farm to be turned on and trees were coming down left right and center. I had to clear our road twice last week to get home, and luckily missed a 3rd tree right at our track to road junction. That was cleared by the emergency services. On the bright side, with another new chain on my chainsaw, I've got plenty of wood for the fire, from stuff coming down on the land I live on. )

They’re on the news now, and all the phone alerts going off, saying it’s not a tornado, but treat it like a tornado and get inside and in your most interior room, winds approaching 80mph. Massive amounts of lightning as well, and rain, of course.

Should be over my house in about five minutes, and through in another 5-7mins.
 
Over 100K without power, and the storm hasn’t passed through yet. Ours is still on, but flickering.

With heat indexes predicted at 110-115F tomorrow, I really don’t want to be without power.

And here it comes…
