I was watching some new product introductions by Jim Farley, CEO of Ford Motor Company. The guy looks a lot like the late Chris Farley or SNL and movie fame. So, I checked, and they were cousins.

Hey LateNite, if you see Jim Farley around the office, get a good look at his hair. I think it is a rug.

Since I own stock in Ford I've watched a lot of interviews with Jimmy Car Car (his nickname). I like him a lot.

Another difficult night. This time I fell asleep alright but woke up at 1AM feeling like my stomach was burning :headshake:My acid reflux was supposed to be under control with the medication, and I have no idea what I ate that could have caused this. I did have a tomato salad for dinner but I usually tolerate tomato well. Just hope I will sleep better tonight.

Mine is often triggered by sweet stuff despite prescription meds to control it (it aggravates my asthma). Provided it isn't within a couple of hours of taking your daily (?) meds, you can still take antacids to deal with flare ups. But obviously only here or there, not frequently and as always follow the directions on both containers/speak to your doctor or pharmacist. (My containers indicate that they shouldn't be taken at the same time of day, so taking during the night (antacid) and then taking my meds in the morning is fine. )

I've reached the conclusion that the Australian language is 80% English (not defining which version for obvious reasons) and 20% guesswork.

The latest one I've come across is "I've got goosies". (No clues from the Aussies, just laugh at my expense.)

I'll give you a 'clue', it's not a goose, not many 'goose' or geese and it's not gooseberries!

I happen to have an appointment with my stomach doctor this friday and I will ask her what can I do. It may be that I was just hungry (although it's unusual for me to wake up hungry in the middle of the night, and certainly not feeling like my stomach is burning). I ate some cereal, took the natural supplement I take when I get stomach sick, and that fixed it.

Just a little vent. I got a great combo going on here with the two current pandemics

I just had a load of PE's, causing me to cough mucus. Yay for alarmed stares due to covid!
And I have a skin disorder causing small circle like scars all over my body (folliculitis) cue people asking 'what is that??' with an alarmed tone since the Monkeypox is all over the news.. ( I had this all my life, it's not contagious).

Yay!! I'm having to cover myself for the most part going to the festival this weekend, before some smart person might think I can't enter for being contagious.. sigh.

It’s a shame people are so alarmist that way. I know I’ve been out and about, have had a drink of water go down the wrong way, cough three or four times to clear it, and then get looks like I’m Typhoid Tasty.

Yeah I understand that there's reason for concern, but at the same time there are so many disorders and illnesses that can cause all this. And not all of them are contagious. My skin disorder raised questions in people sometimes too in the past, but I've noticed an uptick the past months and now have even healthcare professionals ask me 'what is that??' (yes, even a doctor) before proceding to examine me.
This because most news outlets post vague stock photos of round skin lesions on their news items, and to a lot of people my arms look similar.
They're not, because my scars are flat and smaller, but that difference is too marginal for many people to notice. It looks vaguely similar, so it must be monkeypox. I really hope that pandemic won't get worse, because I would have to start carrying some kind of medical certificate to go anywhere.

I've had to do that since day 1.
I have the cough variant of asthma. I can't use hand sanitizer or be anywhere near it (it triggers my asthma as does perfume, deodorant and so on). I also have to nebulize a solution that actually makes me cough up phlegm to reduce the number of chest infections I get. Even spicy food makes me cough if my asthma is playing up. So life has been interesting these last few years. Combine that with people who think hand santiser is more effective than soap (it's not, it just happens to be more convenient and this is where my uncompleted PhD comes in, it was actually in surfactants) and want you to use it at every entrance rather than go to a sink and wash your hands... yeah, it's frustrating to say the least.

Yeah, I do both. I sanitize every chance I get and wash my hands every chance I get. I actually wish they had handwashing stations in stores and restaurants for customers to use elsewhere besides the restroom (I hate public restrooms). And I was a big advocate of handwashing well before the pandemic, as a retired massage therapist and previous restaurant experience.

One of my chooks is currently wading around the flooded front lawn ankle deep in water, in heavy rain hunting for insects and worms that are busy drowning in the flood water :o_o:

Once the rest of the flock gets out at 10am, they'll all join her but for now she has the choice pick of her favourite, drowning worms!

I've been coughing all year , because they thought I had asthma when it actually were small PE's. The asthma was misdiagnosed. I just cough infrequently enough to not need a certificate, and the asthma meds did a good job in repressing it too. I turn out to make PE's frequently due to colitis, just usually my body also removes them. But due to being undermedicated, I eventually ended up in the ICU again. But here so far, nobody noticed me enough. But right now they are starting to respond to my scars.

I'm sorry you're already confronted with this, it must be rather frustrating indeed  and how annoying the hand sanitizer thing must be right now! You walk in to it anywhere..
