I’m sure getting a taste of what it’s like to start getting older and misplacing the mental marbles.
The doc yesterday ok’d me cutting my BP meds in half, with the instruction to monitor my BP at home for a week or so, at different times of the day. No problem, I have a wrist monitor that’s been checked for accuracy so I’m good.
Sat down today, got the cuff out, looked at the picture on how to place it, got it on, sat the way it told me to sit, and pressed the start button.
WHIRRRR…WHIRRR…WHirrr…whirrr…
BP was 218/114. That can’t be right.
Tried it again. Took it off, put it back on, double-checked the instructions, pressed the button.
WHIRRRR…WHIRRR…WHirrr…whirrr…
BP was 242/118. It’s getting worse!
MrsT heard me grumbling, came it, asked what was up.
“This stupid thing says my BP is 242/118! Piece of
isn’t working, and we just had it checked! Piece of
!”
“Is it on right?
“Of course it is! Do I look like an idiot who can’t read simple instructions?! It’s not even instructions, it’s just a picture! Geez, give me some credit!”
“Well…I can tell from here you have it on upside down. And backwards.”
