Who remembers these folks?

1990

In 1990, Diana Rigg was 52, Honor Blackman was 65, Linda Thorson was 43 and Patrick Macnee 68. Diana Rigg died in 2020 at 82, Honor Blackman also died in 2020 at 94, and Patrick Macnee died in 2015 at 93. Linda Thorson is still alive at 75.
Yes, definitely!

I’m sure getting a taste of what it’s like to start getting older and misplacing the mental marbles.

The doc yesterday ok’d me cutting my BP meds in half, with the instruction to monitor my BP at home for a week or so, at different times of the day. No problem, I have a wrist monitor that’s been checked for accuracy so I’m good.

Sat down today, got the cuff out, looked at the picture on how to place it, got it on, sat the way it told me to sit, and pressed the start button.

WHIRRRR…WHIRRR…WHirrr…whirrr…

BP was 218/114. That can’t be right.

Tried it again. Took it off, put it back on, double-checked the instructions, pressed the button.

WHIRRRR…WHIRRR…WHirrr…whirrr…

BP was 242/118. It’s getting worse!

MrsT heard me grumbling, came it, asked what was up.

“This stupid thing says my BP is 242/118! Piece of 💩 isn’t working, and we just had it checked! Piece of 💩!”

“Is it on right?

“Of course it is! Do I look like an idiot who can’t read simple instructions?! It’s not even instructions, it’s just a picture! Geez, give me some credit!” 😠

“Well…I can tell from here you have it on upside down. And backwards.”

🤦🏻‍♂️

An incredible (first time ever) evening watching Chelsea vs Dinamo Zagreb at Stamford Bridge, SW London, in the last round of the Champion´s League this year. Great atmosphere, beautiful ground, and a 2-1 win for Chelsea. Intermittent rain during the game, but the Gods waited until we got out at the end of the game to open the heavens. With 40,000 people suddenly on the streets, there were no buses in sight, so we decided to walk it (about 2 1/2 miles). Needless to say, we got soaked to the skin, saved only by a No14 bus which fortuitously arrived about a mile from home!

Hello all of my CB family. Sorry for my absence. I have missed you all. IDK what has gone wrong with me. Too many doctor appointments an test and scans for both of us. I feel like my life revolves around medical appointments instead of enjoying life. I have begun to find cooking a chore instead of a joy. I really miss you all very much. you all.

Hey, best wishes. I know the feeling all too well (5 medical appointments this week, but 2 had to be rearranged due to being stranded from yet more flooding). We now have 2 months of having reached the upper limit on Medicare, so almost everything is only out of pocket by $15‐30 per appointment. (Yesterday's tests were $360 but my Medicare rebate was $346!)
I'm finding cooking difficult because of my hands at the moment, so am living out of the freezer!

I do hope they get you an answer soon.

Thanks for checking in, we were a little worried. We know the feeling as well. Two Three appointments this week and then the all-day visit to my Mom’s, it’s exhausting after awhile.

Hope you get a breather soon!
