However, now being a non-smoker I do not carry a lighter.

The solution:

a) Ask the bar/restaurant/shop to open it for you.

b) Buy the beer in cans (not ideal but OK in an emergency).
 
Someone had borrowed my beer supplier's pick-up today so he brought 5 cases of beer on a motorscooter!

I was too slow to take a photo.
 
On my way home from work I popped into our local COOP for a few bits, the girl behind the till was serving a lady of advanced years, she scanned 2 bottles of diet coke and put them into the lady's trolley, the lady then asked for a bottle of vodka, does diet coke make any difference compared to ordinary? Either way, at her age she is entitled to vodka and coke :cheers:
 
I had a boss once who drank gin and "one cal". :facepalm:

It does make a calorie difference to drink diet coke/pepsi. But also, gin and vodka are amongst the lowest calorie drinks (per unit of alcohol), I believe. :whistling:
