On an average day: we use approximately 12 kw. On laundry days we use roughly 20kw. What is interesting on non-laundry days, you can tell when the coffee maker was turned on or the tv or any other appliance. The graph on those days measures in 0.2 kilowatts on the hourly chart. On laundry days it measures in killowatts.

They are a good idea because we should get bills from accurate readings instead of estimates, it should stop people bypassing the main supply for criminal use, downside is that people no longer need to read the meters which could lead to job losses.

Technically, we were dry in southern MA yesterday. However, about 12:45 AM today we had two rounds of thunderstorms. I really enjoy watching lightening flash, listening to thunder roll - all good as long as no damage occurs or we lose power. This was a good show!
Wish they could have hit at a better hour. Weather radio went off at 3 and 4 this morning.

It definitely rained and rained last night. I woke me up because it was 'raining' indoors as well. The roof over the bed decided to leak on my side... my hubby will be up there re-sealing the holes he made when he put the chimney flue in for the wood burner. Otherwise the builder will have to come back and repair it... I don't like being rained on at night in the dark.

And we had over 3 inches of rain in the last 24 hours... 78mm was recorded...

this depends on how long you have been a member. Once you have been a member for a certain period of time (I'll need to look it up again) it changes from the standard 24 hrs to the 365 days that you have I beleive
I was going on the editing of old posts mentioned by Morning Glory. Like me she'd not have been able to edit anything older.

I like the trust that this site has in its members which allows them to edit their posts.

Many other sites only allow edits within an extremely short time period of mere minutes.

I would guess that their short leash has to do with angry members coming back to a site to edit/delete their contributions once they have decided to leave. I've seen it happen on the old FoodTV website, as well as on DC.

I have large fingers that cause me to type poorly on a smartphone; even the largest phone that I can get without walking around with a tablet in my oversized pocket (and you thought I was REALLY happy to see you).

Nonetheless, being fat fingered causes many spelling errors that I am happy to correct after proofreading.

Yeah, I know. I should proofread before posting the reply, but c'mon. Time is of the essence, and it marches on. Thoughts are fleeting.
I need to get them down asap, then will correct spelling later.

Having the facility to allow members to do so shows an inherent trust. I appreciate that having chatted on the other side of the same coin where lockdown is the rule.
