What's really weird is, we've been watching Upstairs, Downstairs (from the 1970's), and it's like they made it for today. We've watched storylines dealing with the Spanish flu pandemic, xenophobia and demonization of immigrants, and riots between conservatives and socialists.

Judging from the episode descriptions of the final two, economic downturn is next.

It's all too real!

History has a tendency to repeat itself. Perhaps because we never seem to learn anything.

Have you ever watched Yes Minister and/or Yes Prime Minister? They are still relevant today.

Yesterday I was diagnosed with an inner ear infection. Had been a bit dizzy and uncoordinated for a few days. There I was blaming the local wine. I had also developed vertigo, which it turns out is another symptom. Vertigo is not something that mixes well with driving in mountainous countries. So for the next four days at least I can't drive and I can't get my head under water, which considering I usually spend a fair bit of time under water is a bit of a pain.

I broke an eardrum when I was a teenager. Scared the crap out of me. Turns out, it wasn't a big deal. It healed in two weeks. I was a lifeguard at a city pool. So, I worked the entry/exit counter for two weeks.

You can handle four days. The vertigo may not go away completely in that time. There are exercises you can do for that. I've done them, and they work. Search YouTube for videos.

Thanks CD. I've been given antibiotics for the ear infection, and anti-vertigo pills which seem to be helping already.
