I was just reading that. Apparently, it's only the second time in recorded history that there have been five brewing at the same time. I really feel for you guys, as if covid, wildfires and a turd of a presid not (for once, autocorrect actually worked) aren't enough to deal with.

The hurricanes, the wildfires, the fact that this summer set another new record for the hottest in the Northern hemisphere. California wildfires have already burned 2.2 million acres in 2020 — more than any year on record. Record summer heat. Record tropical cyclones. Record wildfires -- it was all predicted by climate scientists. It is happening sooner than they predicted. But, a significant number of us Mercans don't believe in science.

Record heat + droughts = dead plants and trees. You can't "maintain" that much land full of dead plants and trees California is approximately 403,882 sq km, while New Zealand is approximately 268,838 sq km, making New Zealand 66.56% the size of California. That's just one state. As for fire breaks, these wildfires jump over 8-lane concrete freeways like they aren't there.
Oh, Hurricanes don't hit Dallas. We are way too far inland.

What is to be done? The world is going mad with "fake news" and reframing reality. Morons lead by lunatics, it's quite depressing.
If things get much worse, I'm thinking about building an ark, just in case. With modern tools, I think I can do it in far less than 100 years. Good thing, since I don't think I'll live to be 950 years old, like Noah. I'll put two of EVERY species on earth in it -- except fish. I've been working on ideas part the Red River between Texas and Oklahoma, too. Shouldn't be hard, as it is only knew deep in a lot of places.

So today I found out from Serious Eats that the portuguese health ministry launched a PDF cookbook with recipes that only have canned ingredients back when the quarantine started
What's really weird is, we've been watching Upstairs, Downstairs (from the 1970's), and it's like they made it for today.
