A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck the Buckinghamshire area of England shortly before 10am Tuesday morning with residents taking to social media to report their houses rocking back and forth. The earthquake reportedly struck seven kilometers northwest of Slough near London at a depth of 10 kilometers.

All those fallen trash carts. The horror! I hope they can be saved. :D

I've just read that Dame Diana Rigg, one of my favorites from childhood and beyond, has died.

She co-starred in my favorite Vincent Price movie (and it was her first film role, I think), as well playing Emma Peel (oh, that catsuit!), and a host of other wonderful performances.

Well, I guess I know what I'm watching over the next several days.

So yesterday I was cooking a recipe from the The Food Lab and one of the steps was using a microplane to grate garlic. I never heard the word microplane in my life and assumed it was some fancy kitchen gadget that I don't own, and proceeded to cut the garlic to chunks and toss it in the blender. Later I was curious enough to google a microplane and of course it's just a basic kitchen tool that I've had all my life 🤦‍♀️

I rarely mince or crush garlic anymore. When a recipe calls for that, I just grate it on my microplane. No fuss, no muss!

Very sad news, a beautiful talented lady :(

I have containers in the freezer my friend grows. I always peel, flatten with back of my big knife, sprinkle of rock salt, then chop with the blade into minced garlic. I use a LOT of garlic.

I "mince" a batch of garlic with the food chopper generally for freezing.
