I want to wake up and it was all just a bad dream.
Lik this? I thought I had seen this photo on this website but couldn't find the thread:

An interesting piece on local radio today. Turns out the last time Washington was effectively stormed was by British forces, in 1812. apparently, we took exception to the "theft" of British owned property and so decided to administer some punishment. A regiment from my home town was involved in the action. How times have changed.

It was during the War of 1812, but I believe the attack and burning happened in 1814, but yes, it was also done by sore losers. :D

Boyfriend is like this too, but worse. He actually spills food all around himself and his plate. It's easy to figure where he's been eating because he leaves a trail of breadcrumbs, milk, tomato sauce and various other food remains wherever he eats. He doesn't notice it usually, when he does he cleans. I actually find it amusing, I no longer have to worry about being a clumsy eater since he is one too 😂
OMG I can relate to that. The sun shines through (when we get lucky enough to see it in winter) the back windows and glass doors in late afternoon and illuminates the granite countertops in my kitchen, showing the glorious greasy spills and crumbs at my husband's eating spot...and the ones under his barstool on the floor (not to mention the drips on the stove and counter next to it). He sometimes eats later than I do, and for some weird reason he likes to eat in the dark, which I find annoying. He always leaves a mess for me to clean in the morning, regardless of whether he turned out the lights or not.

Oh yeah, and I must have a hole in my lip because I can't wear white shirts. We used to go to big family spaghetti dinners on my husband's side (Italian-Americans) and I had to wear dark clothing because I invariably ended up with stains on my shirt otherwise.

Took, yet another, fall yesterday whilst I was over in the chicken run area away from the house. I'd been working up there doing the general maintenance that hubby misses such as cleaning the green algae out of the water trough which if he'd done this he'd have noticed that the water was not clear or colourless but almost black... Checking the 60L black bin that acts as a water butt revealed that it was full of decaying gum tree leaves and sludge...It was also lacking in the concept of water... following this back to the source would have revealed that the guttering I installed on the Chook house was in fact full of guess what? Yep gum leaves and black sludge... and the filter in the downpipwas totally blocked etc. It all needed cleaning out but because he had not cleaned out the water trough (It's only a 3 L trough so its not a hard or long job. A minute or two at best) he didn't know... So I got to do it.
I also established that someone (not us) had disconnected the chooks electric fence yet again but again because he does not do the 5 second visual check or listen out for the clicking noise when he goes to the chook house every night, he had not picked up on this either.

so having reconnected the electric fence and climbed onto the roof of the chook house to clean out the guttering, I set about what I had actually gone upto do in the first place and that was to catch 3 of this years chicks. One of them has started to lay, but the very first egg is lacking its shell completely. So I want them seperate from the flock to feed them up. We've been having issues with them being able to see to eat because of their "hair do ". Their head feathers are extensive and come over their eyes which has been causing problems. You can't cut off a growing feather without it hurting them because they have a blood supply but once fully grown this blood supply ceaces and you can cut or remove the feather without much pain and with no bleeding... So I want them in the maternity ward which is empty at the moment... and that meant catching them... hubby didn't do it the night before because he was too tired...

Cue me in the chook run, between the large 2m high rocky outcrop and the electric fence which is now active again... and I managed to go over on my right ankle and fall head first towards the rock. I fended off the rock only to land on a large tree stump about 1m in diameter... and roll straight into the electric fence... Then whilst I'm lying on my back working out what has just happened and if I can actually move my ankle, one of the chooks I wanted to catch walks between me and the electric fence my hand is still touching ! I did successfully catch her whilst lying on my back! But it took me a while to get to my feet without letting go of her.

Get back to the house and hubby is sitting down in the sitting room... When I asked for help he wasn't very cooperative telling me to wait until he had finished. I don't often get angry with him but words were said that included the concept of me hoping that I was more important than him finishing pricingup something on the internet...

today my ankle is swollen and visably bruised and very sore. I know for definite that there Is something torn (most likely a ligament), I heard it snap when I went over an it. I'm just hoping that nothing is broken. (I have a history of breaking bones in a leg (the other one) and then walking on it for 5 weeks (including waterskiing, hiking, squash, badmintonand cycling ) before I finally had it looked at and it ended up in plaster for 6 weeks! I'd broken the fibula In a T shape at the bottom by the ankle... but because the fibula is responsible for the rotation of the ankle and the tibia is the weightbearing bone, I had been able to continue to walk etc even though it had hurt. (I was at school in Germany at the time and didn't want to face a hospital system I didn't know etc).)

Oh dear, I am so very sorry to hear this! I hope you are putting ice on it. I am sure you know RICE if you have been injured as many times as I believe you have. UGH. Terrible, I too hope it's not broken.

Wish I was your neighbour, I'd help you out for a day or two. Hope things aren't as bad later.

Fakebook and Twitter ban the deranged one. Whoopee. The horse bolted a long time ago. You didn't bother yourselves then. You closed it gently and apologetically way after you should have slammed it. Smug gits.

There is growing support among Republicans for a fast-track impeachment and conviction. What makes that significant is, if Trump is impeached by the House, and convicted by the Senate, Trump can't run again in 2024 -- or for the rest of his life. His ability to hold national public office will be dead.

Of course, when he leaves office, the State of New York is chomping at the bit to prosecute him for Tax Fraud. If convicted, he will never be able to hold federal office again. BTW, even if he pardons himself, it only covers Federal prosecution. States can go to town on him.

Watching CNN they said Iran and Palestine are still threatening other countries and they aren't being shut down. Trump is going to jail, I have no doubts, he stepped over the line.

Strange how that they have shut down Trumps accounts, but still seem to be letting his supporters use their accounts to plan further riots.

Sadly the swelling and bruising are worse... spent another day with it raised and on ice. Didn't have any suitable bandages so hubby went out this afternoon, through the checkpoint to go and buy one. It's now in a tubergrip.

The chook concerned laid again today. A tiny egg (bantam sized) but with a shell this time so separating them and feeding them up is working! It's a beautiful blue colour. I'll photo it tomorrow if we're see daylight. We're having a hot period. Due 38°C by Wednesday... it was 7°C last night which makes 33°C today so much harder...20°C at the moment at 10pm tonight though. So little sleep to be had.

The feds and DC police are prepping for a violent Inauguration Day. There is a lot of online "chatter" about something big on the day Joe Biden is inaugurated as President. There is also a good chance Trump will hold one of his rallies on that day, which will get his cult members worked up.

Depressingly predictable. There was some talk about Trump coming to Scotland to avoid that day, but the Scottish Government basically said, "Bog off."
