Tomorrow I’ll come back to work, I have to go to a location nearby the University area in Milan where they are filming the movie “Gucci” by Ridley Scott with Lady Gaga. :hyper::pics:

Not even a shadow of Lady Gaga.
Why didn't anyone warn that woman that I would have been in Milan today??

Not bad for $12US.

Coming from absolutely nowhere this evening I was watching a tv clips programne about 1982 and it had a section on the Hyde Park, IRA bombing of a mounted military band. 12 band soldiers and seven horses died. The drum horse Sefton was critically injured as the nails and bolts packed around the semtex car bomb ripped though his body. He was saved, patched up, and retired to a horse sanctuary on the edge of the village I lived in. I would see him in the field most weeks whilst I walked an elderly neighbours dog as a favour and pocket money earner. Tonight brought back the vivid memory of the massive scars in his flanks, and despite all he went though he finished his life as a placid, contented animal. I cried.

Part of my job is doing events with universities. This year all events moved to remote and a certain college asked for my address because they wanted to send me a thank you gift for attending their event. I was expecting to get a branded tshirt, notebook, a pen, and I was surprised with what I got...a box with tuna paté, smoked ham, etc, and two bottler of sparkling wine

Curious thing happened today. I was cooking my meatballs with vodka sauce and used the same cup to measure first the milk, then the vodka. So the cup measure was still coated with bits of remaining milk and as I was pouring the vodka, the milk was "climbing" the cup as if running from the vodka! Spent a couple of minutes googling if milk is alcohol-phobic but I don't think this topic has sparked much interest in the scientific community.

Note: I did not consume vodka or any other alcohol drink before making this experiment!

The rooks I mentioned in an earlier post seem to be establishing a colony or more accurately, a rookery. The large tree in which they have been gathering has a number of nests at a building stage.

My theory is that this group is an overspill from a big rookery in the small town about three miles south of where we live. That one is right next to the station there and has been established for many years. I suspect it has reached its limit and that a number of younger rooks set out to find a new place to set up home. I find this rather exciting, but I'm like that.
