I found this very interesting 'I bought this mixer when I was pregnant. My son is now 35': Guardian readers on the appliances that just won’t quit

I feel like we're past the time when kitchen appliances lasted 35 years though

Yep I bought mine about 35 years ago too.

My cat just fell from the stairs (we have a very difficult stairway to the attic) and now limps and is meowing and doesn't dare to walk down the other stair.. So my husband lifted him off the stairs and we've just called the vet. My husband is driving there now.
I really hope my cat's not seriously injured but his paw was in a weird angle so he might have broken it

He's sprained his knee, but it's not broken. He's got pain meds now and should be OK in a week.

As I type, there is a woodpigeon calling from a nearby chimney. It is perching right on a pot and appears to be using the pot as a megaphone.

This reminds me of a house that I lived in in Oxford. We had a gas fire in the kitchen that replaced an old open fire. The chimney was still there and there was a woodpigeon that used to perch on the stack. The sound travelled down the chimney and blasted out through the fireplace. It was a bit like listening to a Motorhead tribute band who had employed a woodpigeon as lead singer.

We almost never had any issues with him, and hes already 18. And thankfully, we can easily afford his care. Else we would not have a pet.

Yeah early years don't cost a lot, but near the end it can get very costly. I spent thousands on our cat. But I drew the line at blind and deaf and no bowels.

Understandable, that's no way for it to live. Sorry to hear it got to be like that

Went to the dermatologist because one of the moles on my skin changed colors and shaped. I have two moles that will need to be removed and biopsied. I'm not worried about the moles themselves even if it's melanoma it's most likely self contained, but I'm a crybaby with medical procedures of any kind.

I also have an eye hemorrhage that appeared today and it's being very itchy and annoying.

Mate I had one on my forehead and one on my back removed last year. It was no problem at all.

We hit 70F yesterday. Normal highs this time of year are low 50s.
