So, I take psycho-poodle out in the yard for a few minutes, wearing long pants and a t-shirt. I come back in, sit down at the computer, and feel an itch on my upper thigh, under my pants AND boxer briefs. I check, and it's a #%$&@ mosquito bite. How did a mosquito get there??!!

It's overcast today, and just started raining, so it is only 81F/27C outside at 3:30PM.

We are being told to turn our thermostats up -- all the way to 82F while we sleep. Our fragile power grip -- the one that failed a few months ago during the "Big Freeze" -- is struggling to keep up with sumer demand.

It is somewhat understandable that the Texas power grid couldn't handle a week of record cold temperatures, but "HOT" is something that happens EVERY summer in Texas.

Meanwhile, our Trump worshipping Governor just used his discretionary spending powers to dedicate $250-million to building Trump's stupid border wall. :facepalm:

When in San Pedro, you get around…by golf cart. They’re everywhere. We can rent one for $28/day, but I haven’t taken the risk. Golf carts, scooters, bicycles, and the occasional car are millimeters apart on the road. The taxi driver said that they have speed bumps throughout the town to slow people down.

Somehow, no one crashes into anyone. But, I expect to be intoxicated most of the time on the trip, and my chance to experience the local culture isn’t worth my wife being terrified every moment we roll around the tight roads in the city center.

It's supposed to be 85 here today.

Turn up AC to higher temps so that the burden on the electric power grid is less to avoid blackouts. Though personally, I don't sleep well when I'm hot so not sure how that's going to go over with a whole lot of other people because I know a lot of people are the same as me.

Nobody is going to do it. Besides, peak usage is in the afternoon, not the middle of the night.

I am mosquito candy.
as was my mother -
but my father and older brother could live in a swamp and the bugs never bothered them.
go figger.

the one explanation I've heard is some people 'emit' more CO2 than others, the bugs like the CO2....
maybe when I've finished melting the polar ice caps it'll drown the d*mn mosquitoes....
