Even though we are really busy the production manager told the shop floor that if they want to take Monday off then they can book it, it has been a pretty lousy year with covid yet everyone has worked really hard so he doesn't think it fair to tell people they have to come in.
Blimey - you are searing in Finland and in the South East of England its cool and wet.
That means he doesn't plan to come in.

last week we had 95f=35c with heat index 105f=40.5c.ugh
it was above 90/ 32 every day, peaked on wednesday tho.
I grew up in the Philadelphia area - which was known for 90/90: 90 degrees F and 90% RH
really stinky stuff, but at least climate change is catching up to last century's reality.
Except the 1930's that was one hot time period with 1936 hottest year on record.I've lived in Texas for the last 45 years, but I was born just outside of Philly in Glassboro. I was up there two years ago, and it was hovering around 100F then. Global warming/climate change is making weather weird, for sure.
It is 91F/33C here now, but not terribly humid, so the heat index is 99F/37C. That is low for North Texas in July.

The Great Heat Wave of 1936; Hottest Summer in U.S. on Record | Weather Extremes.
Not a theme song, it is played to the crowd before matches along with other catchy tunes to get everybody in the mood. It does have a great hook.I was listening to NPR in the car, and learned the the English soccer/football team has a theme song? An American Classic? Is this true?
If so, they need to lose the "so good, so good, so good" thing.
