Breakfast Tacos sounds amazing right about now.
I have had some amazing bbq there. I also noted that the SaltLick restaurant in the airport was garbage compared to the actual restaurant, and in general there was no shortage of options for smoked/bbq goodness all over town.

Yeah, never go to the airport versions of any good BBQ joint. The Salt Lick in Driftwood is pretty good, but if you drive out of the city for BBQ, go to Louis Mueller's in Taylor. Their brisket and beef ribs are outstanding -- my favorites. Lunch only, and like most of the good BBQ places, when they run out of BBQ, that's it for the day.

Another great is Snow's BBQ in Lexington. The Pitmaster is a 80-ish year old woman.

Here is a chart of the best BBQ places in Texas. most of them are in or near Austin.

Austin is famous for their breakfast tacos. The consensus among foodies seems to be that these are the best. Two of them are food trucks/trailers. My own experience is that I have had the best breakfast tacos come from food trucks/trailers. Actually, the best tacos all around.

I didn't look early enough to see what the -4.4°C feels like but if -3.1°C feels like -5.5°C...

Needless to say it was totally white outside this morning and the condensation was literally running off the windowsills this morning. (We now have one if those window vacs for washing windows. I use it to remove the condensation. Usually have to empty it 3 or 4 times to do all of the windows in the house.)

Australia is not hot!

It's not even vaguely warm right now.

That's 26F. Very cold, but it could be worse. I take it you have single pane windows? Based on all the condensation.

yes and large gaps in them between the sash style windows. The top comes down and the bottom goes up. Doors are not much better either

Australian houses seem to lack insulation as well.
It's fine in summer, but in winter, late Autumn and early spring It's "interesting ".

I feel your pane (pardon the pun). I have double pane windows. They didn't help much when we got to 0F/-18C in February 2021, and the electricity was on 30 minutes, and off 30 minutes. Fortunately, my fireplace worked, so I could sleep on the floor in front of a fire. I hope your chimney gets fixed soon. Of course, that will insure that the weather warms up, so you won't need it.

Guaranteed really. It's staging to warm up during the day even now and the chooks have started laying again now. We've not really hag a day where one or more haven't lain, but yesterday was 8 eggs and today 6, so that's a clear sign spring is on its way.
The Damson tree is covered in buds almost on the point of blooming so i don't think spring is far away but we'll see Friday at night right into November!

Sadly, all of NSW went into lockdown at 5pm this evening. Back to March last year... that's because some city folk won't do as they should and stay put and are lying on exemption passes to get out when they are not meant to have been etc... so because they won't stay in the city and have spread Delta all of the country (no joke here), all of NSW is now on lockdown.

Grrr

It was pure luck I had a pedicure the day before.

My ex-wife bought me a manicure and pedicure once. I thought, "Seriously?" I went. When I got home, I had to admit is was a nice experience.

Another time, she got me a spa facial treatment. I got home and told her, "Don't EVER do that again."
