My ex-wife bought me a manicure and pedicure once. I thought, "Seriously?" I went. When I got home, I had to admit is was a nice experience.

Another time, she got me a spa facial treatment. I got home and told her, "Don't EVER do that again."

I can only remember one present that my first wife bought for me. A three hour session driving a Formula Ford around Aintree.

It was hell getting over those fences.

I just came across this video. Apparently the UK chain TESCO tried to open stores in the US, and they failed. The video by CNBC explains why, and I have to agree. Mostly, they picked the wrong cities for the concept they were trying to launch, IMO. They may have succeeded in a city like NYC. Los Angeles and Phoenix were terrible choices.

Anyway, it was an interesting watch, that you Brits might be interested in.

I have my feet treated and the hairs in my nose ears removed, then she cuts a fire break in my uni brow. I have it done every month. The pedicurist is very gentle but the hair remover could work for Mossad.

There has been an indication of some general foodstuffs not being available on the supermarket shelves.

I checked yesterday and reckon I have sufficient cooked and uncooked food in the fridge and the freezer and tinned foods in the cupboard to last me a month.

My wife possibly has enough for 6 hours.

[Edit: I have 14 cases of beer though].

Years ago, I bought my wife a standard massage at a spa. She 🤬 hated it. This was back in 1991 or 1992, before all this massage therapy stuff really hit, and she said she found the idea of having a stranger rubbing all over her uncomfortable and creepy. She came out more tense than when she went in.

I've never had a proper massage, but I've had my shoulders, neck, and calves massaged as part of physical therapy, and my hair stylist massages my scalp, face, neck, and shoulders.

I think it's great. I especially like it when she digs her thumbs up under the base up my skull along the back of my neck - sort of like she's trying to pop a bottle cap off. That's the best!

My ex wife and I both used to go to Hot Springs, Arkansas every year, and do a full spa treatment, including massage. We loved it, but some people just can't relax about a stranger rubbing their bodies.

We start organizing our Sept holiday to Serbia today. I want to drive the short way through Bosnia skirting Kosovo. Going through Kosovo would be shorter still and interesting but the Serbs will not let us enter with a Kosovo stamp in our passports. I have driven in south Bosnia in a Croatian registered car but not in Serbia. Today we will visit our insurance company to check the cars cover and also get some medical cover.

Found out today that hubby will be home until at least 2nd September. The lockdown for the territory he works in has already been extended by 2 weeks and we were only 4 days into it.

As for the lockdown in the state we live in, the least said about that the better. No end in sight.
