BUT, it seem like anyone under about 30 is too busy texting to be bothered with driving.
I feel for this, I ma so sorry you had, if I understood correctly, almost an accident...it is stressful.
I get extremely frustrated when a car will cut me off as a pedestrian...I had a recent case, where to me the light was green, to the right-turning car in front of the zebra,, on the opposite side (my back), the light for pedestrians had turned red already, and he horned. I pointed my hand at my green light, it was still green on my face side...he looked there, and pointed to the red back, and we kind of lifted our shoulders, and went our own way...luckily he was not speeding and I was extra careful. But in many other cases, I keep standing at a zebra, and, sadly, usually, a lady driving, will not let me walk by, but I am happy to stand longer and get over safely.
And a long time ago, when my kid was much younger, she and I were trying to cross a two lane local street, not too busy, and standing at the zebra, counting on the slowly approaching car to stop, but no, he did not, he made a little turn to not run us over and continued, but I flipped, I started yelling at him, you f... idiot, what are you doing...are we invisible...probably a very rare case of me cursing...I was so mad, so mad...I remember I wanted to throw a stone at his car...luckily did not.

At present, I thank them, thank you for not stopping, I have an ironic green within but keep my calm and then go...I try to preserve my precious calm.

Are you ok? No harm done?

I was nice to a customer service employee and got chocolate and tea for it 😄

Sadly we have had to euthanise one of our chooks this evening. She was the runt of the flock putting it kindly. Always very picky with what she ate very thin and very fine boned. Periodically she get ill and we'd nurse her back to health, but we had spotted a trend. She be ill during a cold snap and it would take weeks to get her better usually bringing her into the house and nursing her, hand feeding her etc. We'd expected to lose her come the first cold snap. We just hadn't expected the first cold snap to be this early in summer or an 8°C night last night.
This time round she stopped eating even with hand feeding and today she couldn't stand without using her wings to support herself. Her abdomen was swollen which is usually a sign of liver failure.

RIP Silver. You had 5 or 6 years which is far more than we'd anticipated from you.

I would say she's buried deep in the ground with a plant on her, but truth be told, she's buried in the deep freeze until the next bin day. Foxes dig really deep here in the sandy soil we're on, so practicality/necessity dictates a less ceremonious burial.

:hug:my condolences for your loss, a friend is a friend.

I may have shot myself in the foot:
DH exclaimed, "I'm too fat! WE need to go on a diet"
:meh:
Who WE ??!
So I suggested that he go back to eating the way that he had been pre-covid and lost the weight of a small woman off his body...
Four small meals a day and no snacking, nothing in between what I give you, period.
What the hell was I thinking?
Now I've got to make him and extra meal over three I already do :o_o:
Oh well, I know that this too shall pass.

Earlier this week I had an x-ray, and my bone is all healed up and I don’t need to see the orthopedic surgeon anymore! Yay!

Of course, I need to keep seeing my physiotherapist, but she told me yesterday I’m doing really well - range of motion almost back to normal and strength is starting to return. It takes a while, but coming back.

Since I’m doing so well, yesterday I did a workout with my trainer, went to physio, then went to the barn and rode - I’m trotting now!

Then today I went up to the barn again since my coach had a cancellation and could fit me in - more trotting!

Current status: incredibly sore. My muscles are reminding me they’ve barely done anything for the past 6 months!

Just before midnight here, and the storm front just hit. Heavy rain coming down almost sideways with the 40-50 MPH winds.

It was 45F/7C yesterday, 75F/24C today. Now a mild cold front passing through creating storms. Not too bad here, but I think Oklahoma is getting pounded. The NWS is still confirming and counting the tornados.

You know those days where one thing leads to another, to another, to another...

Today was longer than expected.

I spotted a bird trapped inside the apple tree netting so went out to free it, when meant pulling up the netting pegs and I noticed that the tree was starting to grow through the netting, so it was pruned. Then i spotted that some of the fruits were damaged and some were too small and some just had too many on the same branch... so the smallest fruits were then removed, plus any damaged stuff which led to me needing to grate and press the picked fruit to get the apple juice out.

And at the same time I needed to make evening meal, by which time 3 or 4 hours had vanished! :o_o:

On the bright side, tea is made so all I need to do is chop a few more apricots when hubby gets home, add the protein and eat. Lol.

I mentioned why I wouldn't move to be close to my family in Houston in another thread (which spawned another thread). This just in, half a million gallos of water used to put out that terrible toxic chemical train wreck fire in Ohio have been sent somewhere else for disposal. Guess where? That's right, Houston (Southside).

The area from South Houston to Port Arthur is a toxic waste disposal industry center. Not to mention the oil refineries and chemical plants. My hometown of Port Arthur is part of the "Cancer Triangle" due to significantly higher than average cancer rates.

Hey, my brother in contaminated waste products. This isn't exactly in my back yard, but my state's piece of the action is about 50 miles away.

Officials in Texas and Michigan say they were unaware the toxic waste cleanup from the Ohio derailment was being sent to their communities

I am so not surprised. So sorry, neighbor. It wasn't my idea! Thankfully I live 70 miles away from there, but I have a friend who lives 5 miles from the derailment site. Her cough is just now getting under control since it happened.

I was following this derailment and the result with dead fish and small animals. Unbelievable the result where nothing was being done about it. I would have moved. Absolute disaster!!!

Yeah, it was a depressed, poor area before. Going to be even worse now. My friend moved there last year to help her son out (he has a farm and is married with young children). No place to raise a family.
