Once DD got to 15 or 16, we started allowing her to have small amounts of wine or mixed drinks IF she wanted to try them.
This is the law in Ohio (and a lot of other states):

Under Ohio law, children under the age of 21 may drink alcoholic beverages while under the supervision of their parents. This means one parent (or legal guardian) must give consent and be physically present while the child consumes alcohol.

Well that's progressive for the U.S.
It apparently falls under the same purview of kids taking communion. I’ve personally seen it put it to the test with my nephew and his dad - that’s where I found out about it.

Same in Texas, although bars and restaurants have some individual control.

If a minor is in visible presence of their legal-aged parent, legal guardian, or spouse, Texas law allows the minor to possess and consume alcohol. Although Texas law says this is allowed, it does not mean your company or organization is required to allow it. In other words, your business or organization can have rules that are stricter than state law. -- TABC

You have NOTHING on my neighbor Hank. His home-office chair is one of the original Captain Kirk chairs from the first TV series set. I have no idea what he paid for it, but it wasn't cheap. He has other props from the TV series set, and several Starfleet uniforms, and goes to the Annual Trek-fest thing in Las Vegas every year.

I think I mentioned this before, but he has a full-size replica of the robot from Lost In Space.

Does he speak Klingon?

Yeah, an earlier version of the nonsense about the Harry Potter books and movies, I guess.

Did you ever take the short drive down to Kentucky to see the Ark? If I lived less than an hour away, I would have liked to walk through it just for shitzingiggles.

CD
What's the Ark? Is it the Ark of the covenant or the one that someone chose to transport a barrel of wine over the two unicorns? And why the heck would either of them be in Kentucky?

The life size replica of the ark that Noah built when he was 600 yers old, and stuffed with two of every animal. Kentucky taxpayers lost somewhere between $18 million and $62-million on it. It sits empty and rotting, last I heard.

I Googled "ark and Kentucky" because I was curious.

Life-size Noah’s Ark

But Noah missed the winged horses and unicorns, LOL. Pretty sure he chose the wine over them, according to the very factual "What made you smile" thread.

I knew they were stupid down in KY but this takes the cake. Got lots of impoverished folks living in that state, they could have put a dent in child hunger instead.
