Struggling to open a can of tomatoes for the latest challenge after your can opener broke?
No, sorry... kitchen and kitchen knife have already been guessed correctly. I like my knives too much to try to open a can with them, even if one has just been used to demonstrate how rotten the wooden skirting board is in the dining room.

You dropped your knife into your leg?

My mum did that once.
I came home from school, got in the kitchen and mum is sitting there with blood dripping into a bucket.
She hadn't called the doctor or anything, so I'm shouting and swearing at her.
Run to the medicine chest...
Then my brother comes in, sees what's happened and does exactly the same.
So I come back, dress the wound as good as possible. Brother calls docter.
All good.

When dad comes home, we tell the story and we ask mum why she just sat there..
Oh, she says, I knew the kids would be back soon and sort it

Thats a bit strange isn’t it. It’s one of life’s fundamentals to stop yourself bleeding!

I bought a new and very advanced gaming computer so I can pass the time after surgery well. I'm buying Baldurs gate 3, and also have played World of warcraft for the past 20 years. Also am installing Diablo 4, and very open to new ideas!

I recently bought a ps5 and started playing Lego Star Wars. This is after a hiatus of 30 years. Back in the 90’s I used to love a platform game. Loved Crash Bandicoot, Sonic the hedgehog and Mariocart.
Not enjoying Lego Star Wars quite so much mainly because I’m left handed and the toggle for shooting is on the right (and can’t be changed) so my gun swings all over the shop while my right hand demonstrates it’s lack of precision 😂

Close but no cigar chocolate .

I guess I had better put you out of your misery...

I had just sharpened the knife to use it to chop the onions, and not having anything to hand, I wiped the whetstone & metal dust off on my trousers. As I did so, the tip caught my leg, cut through my clothes and me, not the blade thankfully.

Ah now I don’t think I would have ever guessed that cos I rinse my knives under a running tap after sharpening 😂

With water restrictions I've always just wiped them on something. Perhaps my leg isn't the best something even if it was easily to hand! Lol

As I typed I thought hmm Satnav wouldn’t waste the water!
Weird knowing someone to the extent we know each other on here isn’t it!

Yeah, but it may have gotten worse in my memory...
I mainly remember getting an enormous scare
I reckon blood is always scary for children.
My mum wouldn’t deal with any blood and never even kept plasters in the house.
If we cut ourselves we’d just get a clean tea towel thrown at us and tell us to hold it there til we stopped bleeding.
Then when I got to about 7 if anything happened she’d just give it to me to deal with. Spent a lot of my time cleaning wounds n applying paper stitches.
Pretty sure that’s why I ended up in nursing!
